Legal
Effective October 2026
Introduction
These terms apply to KALM apps, including KALM: Meditation Timer, and to getkalm.app. They are provided by Lorenz Schmidt, Hannover, Germany, who publishes the apps under the project name KALM Studios (see Imprint). By using the apps or this website you agree to these terms.
The short version: the apps are free, simple and provided as they are.
Use
KALM: Meditation Timer is free to use for personal purposes. It has no ads, no accounts and no in-app purchases. The app stores are the channel for installing the app, so Apple's and Google's standard terms for app downloads apply in addition.
Please do not copy, resell or redistribute the app, its design or its sounds outside the official stores without written permission.
Not medical advice
KALM is a timer. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological or therapeutic advice or treatment.
Warranty and liability
The apps are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. They are made with care and tested on real devices, but we cannot guarantee that they are free of errors or available without interruption.
Liability for intent, for injury to life, body or health, and under mandatory statutory law (for example the German Product Liability Act) remains unaffected. For a free app, liability is otherwise limited to intent and gross negligence, as far as legally permitted.
Changes
The apps and these terms may be updated. The effective date is shown above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Privacy
How data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: we collect almost nothing.
Governing law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
